This was a Tea Party of the non-political variety. Not a revolution
but an evolution. On Saturday May 6th twenty CCCA
ladies and guest enjoyed High Tea in Beaverton at The Clockwork Rose
Tea Emporium. We ladies were chauffeured to our tea in club
limousines by Howard Freedman, Bill Jabs, George Potter, Robert
Douglas and Larry Cox. We definitely stopped traffic both
figuratively and in reality. As the limos pulled up to deliver our
ladies; all dressed up (some in period attire) proprietors were
coming out of their businesses waving and the people on the street
were in awe of it all. Once inside this adorable tea shop we were
served our choice of tea in beautiful individual tea pots. I had the
delightful Paris blend. After enjoying our tea and conversation for
a while they served us all sorts of High Tea delicacies like
delicious little sandwiches, Quiche, scones, fruit tarts, cookies
and Petit Fours. All on a traditional three tier server. And so we
noshed and chatted the afternoon away enjoying the food and each
other’s company for a magical moment in time. As the tables were
being cleared we had yet another fabulous surprise from Beverly
Asbahr. She gave each lady a tea cup decorated bag filled with some
English tea, fun tea facts, tea magazines (with great recipes), a
tea calendar, a beautiful old fashion hankie, some flower seeds so
you could start your own English garden and even a tea pot tape
measure. What a treat! Thank you Beverly.
Also a big Thank You to the club from your CCCA Ladies
