Director Bill Jabs called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm.

Howard Freedman reintroduced out of town members Paul and Rosanne Hunt and Greg and Kathy Kosmatka.

Matt Hackney introduced members Roger and Christine Wooley and his guest from the Packard Club, Joe Munch.

Secretary’s Report:  A motion was passed to dispense with reading last month’s meeting minutes.

Treasurer’s Report:  Treasurer Howard Freedman reported a gross bank balance of $37,754.17 of which $30,537.00 goes to our fall tour leaving a net balance of $7,217.17.

Sunshine Report:  Larry Cox reported that Bhagwan Mayer was recovering from heart surgery and that he had just learned of the death of his youngest son.

Tours Report:  Howard Freedman said that there would be (19) cars and about (40) people on the fall tour.

He reminded us that drivers should always keep an eye on the car behind them and pull over if they lose sight of them.

He also requested that modern cars remain at the back of the line.

John Imlay reported on the upcoming Jordan Chicken Run on September 23rd and asked for a show of hands of all that would be going.

Newsletter Editor’s Report:  Editor Larry Schick was not present but Bill Jabs reported that the Hood Release would be ready to mail out sometime next week.  Howard Freedman requested that it be put on hold so that the fall tour could be included.

Old Business/New Business:  Dave Charvet reported on the garage sale of Vern Howell’s car related collection that he will be hosting on October 26th and 27th.  He said that it has been widely advertised and that on Saturday the 27th all remaining items would be sold at a 50% discount.  He said to go to Howellgaragesale.com to get an idea of what will be sold.

Bill Jabs called on Roy Asbahr to give a report on his and Beverly’s recent experience at displaying their ’53 Oldsmobile Fiesta at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance.

Roy and Beverly gave a fascinating, and sometimes even moving, report on the many aspects of showing a car at such a prestigious event.

Bill Jabs said that the next membership meeting would be on October 4th and he asked John Imlay if he could provide the program by discussing his “new” 1937 Packard V-12.

Bill adjourned the meeting at 7:55 pm.
