SEPTEMBER 6, 2018 MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
OREGON REGION CLASSIC CAR CLUB OF AMERICA
Members and Guests present:
Howard & Evelyn Freedman, Roy & Beverly Asbahr, Greg &
Kathy Kosmatka, Roger & Christine Wooley, Paul & Rosanne
Hunt, Mona Marsh & Orville Crull, Bill Jabs, Matt
Hackney, John Imlay, Chris Cataldo, Dave Charvet, Joe
Munch and Larry Cox.
Director Bill Jabs called the meeting to order at 7:10
pm.
Howard Freedman reintroduced out of town members Paul
and Rosanne Hunt and Greg and Kathy Kosmatka.
Matt Hackney introduced members Roger and Christine
Wooley and his guest from the Packard Club, Joe Munch.
Secretary’s Report:
A motion was passed to dispense with reading last
month’s meeting minutes.
Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer Howard Freedman reported a gross bank balance
of $37,754.17 of which $30,537.00 goes to our fall tour
leaving a net balance of $7,217.17.
Sunshine Report:
Larry Cox reported that Bhagwan Mayer was recovering
from heart surgery and that he had just learned of the
death of his youngest son.
Tours Report:
Howard Freedman said that there would be (19) cars and
about (40) people on the fall tour.
He reminded us that drivers should always keep an eye on
the car behind them and pull over if they lose sight of
them.
He also requested that modern cars remain at the back of
the line.
John Imlay reported on the
upcoming Jordan Chicken Run on September 23rd
and asked for a show of hands of all that would be
going.
Newsletter Editor’s Report:
Editor Larry Schick was not present but Bill Jabs
reported that the
Hood Release
would be ready to mail out sometime next week.
Howard Freedman
requested that it be put on hold so that the fall tour
could be included.
Old Business/New Business:
Dave Charvet reported on the garage sale of Vern
Howell’s car related collection that he will be hosting
on October 26th and
27th.
He said that it has
been widely advertised and that on Saturday the 27th
all remaining items would be sold at a 50% discount.
He said to go to
Howellgaragesale.com to get an idea of what will be
sold.
Bill Jabs called on Roy Asbahr to give a report on his
and Beverly’s recent experience at displaying their ’53
Oldsmobile Fiesta at the Pebble Beach Concours d’
Elegance.
Roy and Beverly gave a fascinating, and sometimes even
moving, report on the many aspects of showing a car at
such a prestigious event.
Bill Jabs said that the next
membership meeting would be on October 4th
and he asked John Imlay if he could provide the program
by discussing his “new” 1937 Packard V-12.
Bill adjourned the meeting at 7:55 pm.
